Clair W. Horting, 86, of Newport, PA passed away peacefully at home on January 9th
2020. Clair Horting was born in Newport and was the son of the late Raymond L.
and Verna (Wieland) Horting.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Carol M. Horting; his sisters,
Arlene Kyle, Florence Bitting, Mary Wright, Stella Thomas, Nellie Clouser, Verna
Moll, Edith Roush, and Virginia Little; his brothers, Harry, Kenneth, Harold,
Raymond, and Frank Horting.
He is survived by his sister Carrie Swalm of Newport; two sons Todd and Brian, and
daughter Elisabeth. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jessica and Christine
Horting as well as many nieces and nephews.
Clair was an army veteran and was retired from the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot. He
was the local coordinator for the Perry County Recycling Program and a volunteer
for the Perry County Fair. Clair was a loyal member and deacon of Hilltop Christian
Church in Newport, PA. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, bowling, family and friends,
and his cats.

Hillcrest Dr., Newport, PA 17074 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 13 at Hilltop Christian
Church, 721 Hillcrest Dr., Newport, PA 17074 with Pastor James Penica officiating.
A viewing will precede the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will follow the service at the Newport Cemetery, 1125 Middle Ridge Rd.,
