Carl E. Britcher, 79, of New Bloomfield, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 29, 2014 in the Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born July 7, 1934 in Eshcol to William and Florence (Bender) Britcher. He was retired from the Pa. State Hospital. He was an Army Veteran and attended the Newport First Church of God. He was a member of the New Bloomfield Ambulance League and AARP. He loved jamming on his Martin guitar and played at nursing homes, Perlo and 34 Auto. He was a member of the former Shermans Valley Boys Band.   Carl is survived by his wife, Mildred Sweigart Britcher; brothers, Dale L. Britcher of Loysville and Dennis L.Britcher of Newport; sisters, Ruby Schlusser of Landisburg, Thelma Flickinger of New Germantown and Barbara Irvine of Loysville. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, William and Max Britcher.

Family and friends are invited to services on Thursday from the Newport First Church of God for the funeral service at 11 M with burial to follow in the Eshcol Cemetery, Millerstown, with military honors by the Perry County Military Honor Guard.
