NEWPORT: Virginia Lillian Marks Moore, 83, passed away August 19, 2014 at her home in Newport following a long illness. Virginia was born July 19, 1931 in Erly to Anna Myrhl and Charles G. Swab. She was a graduate of Ickesburg High School Class of 1949 and was a nurse for several years at the Pa. State Hospital in Harrisburg. She enjoyed summers at Rehoboth Bay and attending Bluegrass festivals.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John "Jack" S.Marks and Thomas A. Moore; brother, Charles F. Swab and granddaughter, Whitney R. Koch. She is survived by daughters, Malinda Marks Van Duser of St. Peter, MN, Cheryl Marks Miller and Heidi Marks Koch of Newport; brothers, Harvey A. Swab of Mechanicsburg and Robert L. Swab of Millerstown; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to services on Saturday to be held at the Newport First Church of God, Newport for a Visitation from 10 AM until the Funeral Service at 11 AM with Reverend Cheryl Dorman officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Virginia suggested contributions to the Newport First Church of God, 334 South 5th Street, Newport, PA. 17074.
Virginia's daughters wish to extend their gratitude to Angels on Call for their support in her final years as well as Legacy Hospice in her final months.
