NEWPORT: Troy E. "Butch" Miller, 61 years old, of Newport, Pa., went home to be with the Lord and his loved ones who've gone before him on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014.
Troy will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his family: loving wife Karen, mother, Doris; sons Brent and Derek, daughters-in-law Kim and Tammy; stepchildren, Troy, Pam and Kurt; sister, Viki and brother Jim; sister-in-law, Chylene,; brother-in-law, Kory; mother-in-law Edna; and 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and canine companion, Angel. He was preceded in death by father, E. Victor Miller and his grandparents.
Troy honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a driver by Keith L. Harring Trucking and previously by H.F. Campbell & Son. Troy's interests included hunting, motorcycles, NASCAR, and especially dirt-track racing as a driver, crew member, and owner. Troy drove his tractor-trailer rig for several years in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics on the Harrisburg Beltway. Troy was a member of the Newport American Legion Post 177. Among Troy's greatest gifts to his loved ones were his quiet and constant strength, a soft heart, a great sense of humor and his laugh.
Troy was a member of Hilltop Christian Church, Newport. The Service of Death and Resurrection will be held Sunday, Dec, 14, 2 PM at the Church, 721 Hillcrest Drive, Newport with Pastor James Penica presiding. Visitation with the family is at 1 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Hilltop Christian Church or to Hospice of Central Pa., 1701 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, Pa. 17110.
