Kathy Lynn Cree, 62, of Newport, passed away peacefully at her home on April 30, 2015. Kathy was born June 26, 1952 in Harrisburg, PA to Carl and Helen Wagner Trout of Newport. She was a 1970 graduate of Newport High School and graduated from Mansfield University in 1974 with a degree in Home Economics. Kathy was the Food Service Director at Susquenita School District in Duncannon, PA for 27 years
She was a member of the Incarnation United Church of Christ where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher, children's choir director, pianist, and Deacon and Elder of the Consistory. Kathy was a former 4-H leader and a member of the Grange, at the local, state and national levels.
Kathy enjoyed many hobbies, including crocheting, playing the piano, sewing and cooking. She was known for her love of animals, especially cats.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Carl Trout. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, James Cree; two daughters, Jennifer Keefe and husband Dan of Hampton, New Jersey and Jessica Cree of Enola; her son, Jeffrey Cree of Enola, her mother, Helen Trout, her twin sister, Karen Fleisher and husband Roger, and her brother, Edward Trout and wife Bonnie all of Newport, and one granddaughter, Jaedyn Hall, of Enola,
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11 AM at Incarnation United Church of Christ, Newport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Incarnation UCC, PO Box 68, Newport, Pa. 17074 or Hospice of Central Pa. 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA. 17110.
