Bertha M. Holley, 86 years old, formerly of Shermans Dale, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at The Manor at Perry Village, and has rejoined her husband of 67 years. She was born November 30, 1928 in Newport to John and Zada (Dupert) Rudy. Bertha had worked at the former Eileen Hope Dress Factory and Carlisle Service Sewing Center. She was owner of the former Holley's Ceramics in Shermans Dale. She was a member of the Newport First Church of God and enjoyed sewing, quilting and needle working.
Bertha was the widow of Robert L. Holley and is survived by her daughters, Linda L. Wilson of Charleston, SC., Pat L. Gross and Newport and Trudy L. Lyons of Boiling Springs; son, Mark A. Holley, of Newport; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert L. Holley Jr.; grandchild, Denise Holley and great great grandson, Kaden Gross.
Services for Bertha will be held on Thursday from the Newport First Church of God, 334 South 5th Street, Newport with a viewing from 11 AM until the funeral service at 12 PM with the Reverend Cheryl Dorman officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
