Betty Frances Stultz Carl, 96, formerly of Newport, passed peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Green Ridge Village, Newville, PA. She was born July 21, 1919 in Hollidaysburg, Blair County, PA to the late Walter Dallas and Anna Brandt Stultz. In 1929, Betty moved to Newport, PA and resided there until she relocated to Green Ridge Village Retirement Center in 1993. Her husband, Bennie F. Carl preceded her in 1992. She was also predeceased by two infant brothers.
  Betty was the valedictorian of her Newport High School Class of 1937 and graduated from Central PA Business College in 1939. She was Past Regent and 60 year member of Perry County DAR, member of First Presbyterian Church, Newville, and former member of Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport and Newport Civic Club. At Green Ridge, she was a former member of the Village Aires and Happy Tones..
  Always a lady and patient beloved Mother to Winifred (Winnie) Carl Wetzler (Steven), Mechanicsburg and James F. Carl (Stephanie), Harrisburg; grandmother to Karen Wetzler Miller (Jeremy), Benjamin S. Wetzler (Kelly), Wendy Carl Bond (Paul), and Katherine Ann Carl (Srdjan Jovanvic); great grandmother (G-nanny) to Brady Carl Miller, Julian Jovanvic, Thomas Bond, Maxwell Miller, and Evalina Frances Miller.
  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 8 at the Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport with a visitation  from 1 PM until the funeral service at 2 PM with Pastor Mary Kay Miller officiating. Burial immediately following  in the Newport Cemetery. .
  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church, 11 Church Road, Newport 17074 or SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, Pa. 17202.
