H. Albert “Abe” Campbell, 82 years old of 701 Poplar St Millerstown, Pa died Monday March 20 at Holy Spirt Hospital. He was born April 6, 1934 in Millerstown to the late H. Benjamin and Jennie Strawser Campbell. Abe started working for his grandfather and father in trucking during his high school years and even prior to that worked briefly in a greenhouse. After retiring from H.F Campbell & Sons Trucking , Abe became a real estate agent with Century 21. After retirement, you could find Abe out and about enjoying morning and afternoon coffee, various dining opportunities and social events, at home with family and friends or "puttering" and on the front porch in Millerstown or Berlin, MD. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Perry Valley. He attended one-room primary school in Perry Valley and graduated from Greenwood Joint High School in 1952. He was a member of the Millerstown Fire Company, Millerstown Loyal Order of the Moose, The Newport Social Order of Owls, Newport Lodge 381 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine, Perry Juniata Shrine Club, Tall Cedars of Lebanon and Juniata Valley Forest #88.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Pat Miller Campbell. His son H Steven Campbell and wife Gail of Liverpool; daughter Natalie Blosser of Wormleysburg; brothers, Richard B. Campbell and wife Pauline of Millerstown, Donald L. Campbell of Millerstown, R. Franklin Campbell and wife Sue of Newport; sisters Shirley Dunkelberger and husband Robert of Millerstown, Nancy Sweger and husband Robert of Millerstown, Kathy Sanderson and husband Richard of Millerstown; uncle S. Robert Campbell and wife Nancy of New Bloomfield and Grandson Harris T. Campbell, the highlight of his life.
Services will be held at the Highland Presbyterian Church located at 11 Church Road in Newport with a viewing Friday from 6-8PM and on Saturday visitation 10-11am with Masonic Services at 11am. Funeral service to follow with the Reverend Nancy McClure officiating. Burial will be at the Wrights Presbyterian Cemetery.
