Carl R. Baer, 85 years old, of Elliottsburg, PA. passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018. He was born April 5, 1933 in Elliottsburg to Grover and Miriam (Fleisher) Baer. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Mannsville Lutheran Church where he had served on the church council and on numerous committees.
Carl is survived by his wife Ruby (Reich) Baer; sons Douglas Baer and fiancé Monica, and Brian Baer and wife Wanda; daughter Brenda Johnson and husband John; grandchildren Zach and Casey Baer, Eric and Kristy Shrader, Adam Baer, Ericka Baer, Krystal and Jason Dattoli and Jeremy and Krista Dzikoski; 13 great grandchildren; brothers Kenneth Baer and Donald Baer and sister Fay Loy. He was preceded in death by his daughter LuAnn Baer; brothers Grover Jr., Ernest, Harold, and Vernon Baer; and sisters Grace Fuller and Miriam Kitner.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 7th at the Mannsville Lutheran Church, 2944 Mannsville Road, Elliottsburg, PA 17024 with a viewing from 12:30 PM until the funeral service at 2 PM, with Reverend George Martz and Reverend Robert Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery, with military honors by the Perry County Military Honor Guard.
