George "Abe" Lincoln Singleton
George Lincoln Singleton, 78, of Newport, passed away Saturday, April 25th, 2020, at his home. George and his wife, Virginia, were married 58 years.
Born in Landisburg on January 4th, 1942, he worked at Haubert Homes for over 30 years. He also enjoyed working security for many years at Newport High School. Abe enjoyed hunting/fishing, coaching little league baseball/sports, and collecting arrowheads.
In his lifetime, Abe held various leadership positions at Newport First Church of God.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Scott, Steven and wife Cathy, Douglas and wife Shirley, and Jake; three granddaughters, Felicia, Courtney, and Chelsea; two great-grandchildren, and his sister Fannie and her husband Martin.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Aaron and Glenn "Sam" along with sister Virginia Arlene.
