Sadie I. Kitner, 83 years old, of New Bloomfield, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Pinnacle West Shore Hospital and is now in the warm, loving arms of Jesus. She was the first daughter born to the late William Scott and Geraldine (Seidel) Ickes
on September 23, 1937 in Centre Township, Perry County. She graduated from Perry Joint High School in 1955, then did 4 months of missionary work in Cuba under the direction of God's Missionary Church and in 1960 graduated from Union Bible Seminary. She further pursued her studies in religion with the Berea School of Theology in Linton, Indiana where she obtained a Bachelor of Bible and a Bachelor of Theology degrees. She continued as a teacher in the elementary and secondary classes at the Christian Day School in Westfield, Indiana.
Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Lester A. Kitner (Jimmie) brothers, Richard Blaine and William S. and Ronald K. Ickes; step son, John L. Kitner and step daughter, Sharon Nispel. She is survived by her son James A. Kitner of New Bloomfield; sister Frances I Owen of New Bloomfield and several step grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 11 at 9 AM at Snyder Church Cemetery, New Bloomfield.
