  Robert L. Gross, 72 years old, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at his home in Newport. He was  born September 10, 1949 to the late Levi and Wilda (Stahl) Gross. He was a Vietnam Era veteran of the US Navy,  a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, lifetime member and former president of the Newport Ambulance League, a lifetime member of the Newport Fire Company and a retired 911 dispatcher.  
 Bob is survived by his wife Patsy Holley Gross; sons, Christopher H. Gross (Brenda) of Newport, Timothy  A. Gross (Crystal) of McClure, Cameron Kunkle (Emily) of New Cumberland and Nathaniel Gross of Lewistown; daughter Brianne L Bryant (Steven) of Harrisburg; brother Michael Gross (Debra) of Hummelstown; sisters Nancy Kauffman (Harold) of Newport and Sue Huss of Newport; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Ronald Gross (Mary). 
 Services will be held Thursday, October 7 from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a viewing from 12 PM until the funeral service at 2 PM with Pastor Cheryl Dorman officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery with military honors by the Perry County Military Honor Guard.
  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Newport Ambulance League or Newport Fire Company.

Robert "Bob" Gross your patriotism will never be forgotten. You are a true patriot and served your life in service to his country. No greater sacrifice can be made nor demonstration of courage needed. You will always be our hero. Thank you for your service. Please accept our condolences! We here at the Borough of Middletown Pennsylvania Police Department support the Gross family in there time of grief and also celebrate the great life of Mr. Gross.
