Anna Grace (Gamble) Smith passed away peacefully at her home in Ickesburg to join her Lord on April 27, 2019. Anna Grace was born January 19, 1941 to Merle and Savilla Gamble, who preceded her in death. She was married to her husband Irvin Smith for 61 years.
The family gathered around her the days before her passing to express our love to her one last time. She returned her love to us and shared that nothing was more important to her than her family. Anna Grace adored her seven children, twenty grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. Irvin and Anna Grace confirmed their love and commitment to each other one final time.
Anna Grace grew up in East Waterford, PA with five siblings, Herman Gamble (wife Janet), Alice Baker (husband Jerry), Nancy Swartz (husband Carl), Peggy Feagley, and Mary Jane Conrad (husband Roger).
Irvin and Anna Grace raised seven children near Loysville, PA, Vicki Nickel (husband Bob), Roger Smith (wife Terri), Brenda Smith (fiance Joe), Annette Woods (husband Kenny), Tim Smith, Jamie Smith (wife Verna), and Cory Smith (fiance Heather).
Anna Grace enjoyed watching NASCAR races and her beloved driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. She was declared the best donut maker every year on Fasnacht  Day by her husband. She loved to attend the family birthday parties and summer picnics. Her favorite pastimes were going to yard sales, bingo, sewing, canning, collecting porcelain dolls, matchbox cars, jewelry, and ceramic bells.
She served her community as an EMT for the Ickesburg Ambulance Club and serving French fries at all the local carnivals for the Ickesburg Fire Company for many years. Her friendships are many throughout Perry and Juniata Counties, and with her Amish neighbors.
The viewing will be held at the David M. Myers Funeral Home in Newport from 6:00 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday. Burial for family and extended family will be held at the Sandy Hill UCC in Loysville on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. The family requests donations to the funeral home to support the funeral costs in lieu of flowers

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’d like to share some real hope with you. In Psalms 146:4 tells the condition of the dead. In John 6:40 and Acts 24:15 the bible promises a resurrection of our loved ones back to earth. When Jesus resurrected Lazarus from the dead, it was to earth. That was a foregleam of the future. In Psalms 37:11+29 says man will live forever on the earth in peace. That was God’s original purpose, for man to live forever in the garden of eden. God’s purpose hasn’t changed. In Isaiah 45:18 says God created the earth to be inhabited. That’s why he gave his son to die for us, John 3:16, so we could have everlasting life on earth. In Revelation 21:4 says there’ll be no more pain or death. Since there’s no pain or death in heaven, those are future conditions here on earth as God had intended.
