ANNA MAE TROUTMAN, 88, of Newport, died Saturday, February 24, 2024, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born January 29, 1936, in Millerstown, PA to the late George and Jennie (Humphrey) Urich.
She was a former employee of the Eileen Hope Dress Factory of Millerstown, Fruehauf Trailer Corporation, Carson Long Military Institute, Amity Hall Hotel, Sportsman’s Inn, M. Brenner and Sons, Giant Foods and cleaned homes. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved cooking and watching TV, and as a woman of conviction loved red and hated cold weather.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George “Rich” Troutman, a son, R. Daniel “Chet” Troutman, four brothers: George, Harry, Howard, Raymond Urich, and a sister, Mary Gramm. She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Bonn of Newport, Jill (Craig) Hoover of Newport, Amy Sutton of Newport; a sister, Emma (Larry) Kauffman of Carlisle; six grandchildren: Justin (Lori) Bonn, Dylan Hoover, Maggie (Trevor) Kaufman, Mason Hoover, Spencer (Shawna) Sutton, Nicholas Sutton; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 16 at the Church of the Nativity and St. Stephen, 159 S. 2nd Street, Newport, where the Rev. Robyn Szoke-Coolidge will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gentiva Hospice of 205 Grandview Ave, #304, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the David M. Myers Funeral Home 64 N. 2nd Street, Newport, PA.
