Barbara A (Smith) Horting

NEWPORT: Barbara A. Horting, 78, of Lewes, Delaware, and formerly of Newport, entered into eternal rest on
January 21, 2021 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Delaware. She was born
February 1, 1942, the daughter of the late William D. Smith and Mildred Zeigler
Murphy.  Barbara was retired from M & T Bank, Pennsylvania and resided in Lewes,
Delaware. She enjoyed living in Lewes with her many friends and her dog, Luci.
Barbara is survived by her brother-in-law, Donald McGowan and niece, Debra Roesler and husband Steven 
of San Francisco, CA and her children, Zachary, 22 and Eliza, 19. She was preceded in
death by her husband of 49 years, Charles L. Horting, her sister, Molly Behney, her twin
sister, Virginia McGowan and niece, Donna L. Flurie.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 11 AM from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport
with Pastor Mary Kay Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
