Barbara D. Strawser, 71 years old, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at the UPMC West Shore Hospital. She was born April 3, 1955 in Missouri to George C. and Erma (Holden) Myers. She was a 1973 graduate of Newport High School and enjoyed a good book, knitting, crocheting, going to races and her walks in the neighborhood. She loved flea markets, monthly yard sales, craft shows and her beloved pets. She loved family adventure trips to Gatlinburg, TN, Walt Disney World, FL and Hershey Park.

Barb is survived by her husband Thomas J. Strawser, mother Erma Myers of Newport, daughter Kandace Little of Duncannon, sister Brenda Butler of Newport, grandchild Jasmine , step grandchildren Christine and Breanna and 5 step great grandchildren. She was  preceded in death by her father George C. Myers and sisters Michelle Jochimsen and Darlene Henry.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 27 from 12-3 PM at the Pine Grove Church of God,  2041 Newport Road, Newport. If you would like to bring something, please coordinate with Kandace Little 717-636-1477 by June 20.
