Barry Evans Obituary

Barry L. Evans, 73, Duncannon, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2022,
in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born July 29, 1948, to the late Landis and Virginia Miller Evans. Barry served
his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired lineman from PPL.
He was a 1966 graduate of Susquenita High School, and a member of the Millerstown
Moose #925, Newport VFW Post #34, Duncannon American Legion Post #340, and
Newport Social Order of Owls. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed camping.
Barry was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Matusek Evans and son Matthew
Evans. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth “Sue” Haines and husband Grover;
daughter-in-law and grandchildren Kathy, Taryn, and Brady Evans; and niece Laura
Toth and husband Bill and son Seth Toth, all of Duncannon.
A celebration of Barry’s life will be held on Saturday, January 22, at the Newport First
Church of God with Pastor Rodger Scheuing officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 pm
with service beginning immediately after at 2 pm. Interment will be held at the
convenience of the family. The family is requesting that masks be worn to the visitation
and service to protect everyone’s health.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Duncannon EMS, Inc., 16 Shermanta
Drive, Duncannon, PA 17020.
