Beth H (Stambaugh) Maurer

Beth H. Maurer, 79 years old, of Newport, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at Stonebridge Nursing Home. She was born September 23, 1943, to John and Kathryn (Hench ) Stambaugh. She was a retired nurse, having worked at the Carlisle Hospital and retiring from the Perry Village Nursing Home. She was a member of the former St. Samuel Lutheran Church, Order of Eastern Star, and Oliver Grange #1069. 
 

Beth was the widow of Richard L. Maurer and is survived by her children,  John R. Maurer (Betsy) of Newport and Diane Maurer of Fairfax, VA; sister Nancy Bratton of Millerstown; granddaughter Jennifer Swartz (Adam) ,great grandchildren Bentley and Bailee Swartz, two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, May 27 at the Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport with a viewing from 10 AM until the funeral service at 12 PM with the Reverend Nancy McClure officiating. A burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
