Betty Mae (Reisinger) Garman, 90, was called home to our Lord March 27, 2026. She was born on May 21, 1935 and grew up in Ickesburg, Pa.

Betty loved watching wildlife, caring for her garden, going for drives with her husband, indulging her grandchildren, and treasuring time spent with friends and family. She was the family's central figure and a pillar of strength to all who knew her. Her steadfast devotion to her children was evident to everyone; she consistently aimed to be an outstanding mother, and her positive influence reached many lives.

Betty belonged to the New Life Assembly of God in Landisburg, Pa and was known for her deep faith. Following her diagnosis with stage 4 cancer, she demonstrated remarkable strength and character. Although she could have felt angry or upset, Betty chose to embrace every moment with love. No hardship or illness could take away her true spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Banks and Ethel Reisinger; daughter, Connie Campbell; sisters, Martha Reisinger, Janet Hiler, Mary Garman; brother, Charles Reisinger; and great grandson, Tristan Frampton.

Her husband of 65 years, Elmer I. Garman, survives her, along with three children: Herman and his partner Amy, Elmer and his wife Ronda, and Dawn Sheaffer. Betty is also survived by her sister Dolly Dunn, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and four great- great-grandchildren.

Betty will always be remembered as a selfless, altruistic wife, mother, and nanny.  Her steady presence, warm heart and unwavering love will be deeply missed.

Services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at David Myers Funeral Home, 125 Walnut Street Newport, PA 17074 with Pastor Rafe Sanderson officiating.  A viewing will take place at 12pm followed by a funeral at 1pm. Burial will take place immediately after at Eshcol Cemetery, Millerstown, Pa.
