Betty J. Gibboney, 90 years old, of Newport, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carlisle. She was born May 27, 1934  in Reedsville, PA to Banks and Helen (Bonson) Sausman. She was a member of the Hope Eternal United Methodist Church, Newport and enjoyed  going to yard sales.

  Betty was the widow of Jack I. Gibboney and is survived by her sons, Jack I. Gibboney Jr, Jeffrey K. Gibboney, Jan C. Gibboney, Sr., Jerry B. Gibboney Sr. and Jamie D. Gibboney, all of Newport; nine grandchildren  and several great grandchildren.

  Services will be held Thursday, August 1 at the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a viewing from 10 AM until the service at 11 AM with Pastor Deborah Ryder officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery. 

  In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Newport Ambulance League or  the Hope Eternal Church.
