Betty Kathleen (Foose) Reisinger, age 85 of Landisburg, went to be with the Lord on
January 10, 2026 following a 2022 stroke and courageous battle with cancer at
Cumberland Crossings of Carlisle. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother and great
grandmother and life-long member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Elliottsburg; she
always put church, family and all others first over self-serving interests and was
generous, caring and loving with a sweet smile and sacrificial heart.
Born at home (Landisburg) on July 26, 1940, to the late Walter B. and Helen M. (Dum)
Foose, Betty was a graduate of Green Park Union High School class of 1958. She
married her high school sweetheart, John A. Reisinger on March 14, 1959 and following
his death in 1972 she worked for the West Perry School district until June 2002. Betty
is survived by a sister Carol Thomas and a brother Samuel (Amy) Foose both of
Landisburg, son Daniel E. (Diane) Reisinger of Dillsburg, son David J. (Melissa)
Reisinger of Loysville, daughter Kathleen S. (Jan) Reapsome of Loysville and many
nieces, nephews and cousins. Her five (5) grandchildren include Jonathan Reisinger,
Jennifer (Leon) Siguenza, Maggie (John) Lopez, Rachel (G.) Sanchez and Megan
(Alex) Wilson. Her six (6) great granddaughters are Camryn and Keeley Siguenza,
Hattie and Aubrey Lopez and London and Violet Sanchez.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by an infant sister
(Joan), her brother Edward (Louise) Foose, her sister Connie (Ron) Warner and a
grandson Joshua Reisinger.
Betty adored spending time playing games and doing crafts with her grandchildren
affectionately known as her “Lil Betties”. She enjoyed card playing with cousins and
friends, traveling on bus trips, cooking/baking, sewing/quilting, painting, gardening,
flowers (violets) and attracting birds to her feeders. Betty also enjoyed researching and
learning about family genealogy and reading publications from the Perry County
Historians.
Other community contributions consisted of Cub Scout Den Mother, Sunday/Bible
School Teacher, Ladies Rebekah Lodge and assisting with various local senior center
events and activities.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 70
Limestone Ridge Road, Elliottsburg, PA 17034. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00
AM. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Eric Petty officiating.. In lieu of flowers
donations may be made to her church.
