Betty Jane Trout (August 7, 1944 - April 5, 2026)

Betty Trout died on April 5, 2026 at her home in Oliver Township, Newport, Pennsylvania.
Born August 7, 1944 to Charles and Mollie Bell in Perry Valley, Millerstown, Pennsylvania.  She had 4 siblings. (Charles, Christine, Arthur, and Ammon) She graduated from Greenwood Joint High School in 1962.  She met Jay A. Trout at a square dance and later married in 1963.  They had a loving 40 year marriage.  During this marriage they had 3 children Lisa Hoffman(Harold), Dale Trout (Pamela), and Wes Trout (Beth).  Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa in 1994; Then by her husband Jay in 2003; and finally by her brother Arthur in 2014.  Betty is survived by her two sons, their wives, and her son-in-law.  She is also blessed with 10 grandchildren: Elise, Zachary, Leighann, Jeremy, Jessica, Genevieve, Benjamin, Aaliyah, Molly and Samuel.  Betty was a red headed left hander and enjoyed word-find puzzles and birdwatching.  She was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church, Carlisle, PA.  She was a devout Christian, wife, and mother.  Services will be held at Saint James Independent Church, 3502 Powells Valley Rd, Halifax, PA 17032 on  Friday, April 10 with a visitation from 11 AM until the funeral service at 12 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
