Christopher M (Slippy) Smeigh, 48 years old, of Newport, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, June 24, 2024 as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born June 14, 1976 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Chris was a 1994 Graduate of Newport High School and Employed at Keystone Fleet Services in Mechanicsburg. He was President of the Steel Hammerz LE MC Indian Rivers Chapter, a past member and Sgt at Arms of the American Legion Riders, past son of the American Legion and past member of the Newport and New Bloomfield Fire Companies. He was a motorcycle, gun and car enthusiast. Loved his country and supported his 2nd amendment rights. He enjoyed riding his Harley, working in his garage, taking care of his lawn, riding his tractor, cooking/grilling, watching NASCAR, watching PSU beat OSU and spending time with his love ones.  He was a hard working man that took pride in all his work. He had such an infectious smile, amazing personality and a fantastic sense of humor. He would do anything for anyone, even strangers. His proudest moments were when he married his High School sweetheart on 2/28/2004, the birth of his youngest daughter, seeing each of his children graduate high school, becoming a Grampy and buying his 1st Harley. He leaves a void in everyone's hearts that knew him and loved him. But, mostly in his family's lives. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

  Christopher is survived by his wife and best friend of 20yrs Michelle (Nevius) Smeigh; son Quentin Smeigh (Sarah); daughters Courtney Diener (Will) and Raegen Smeigh; father Donald Smeigh (Jill) and mother Shirl Clouser Smeigh; grandmother Shirley Sheaffer Clouser; sister Tracy Sarver (Lee); grandchildren Lydia and Tobias; uncle Marlin Clouser Jr. who lives with him; nieces Hailey and Hannah; six dogs but especially his beloved dog Frankie He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Marlin Clouser; aunt, Sherry Jones; paternal grandparents William and Olive Smeigh; great grand parents Floyd and Anna Sheaffer; great grandparents Russell and Nancy Clouser; aunt Shirley Gross

Services will be held Tuesday, July 2 at the Newport Family Life Center, 27 West Shortcut Road, Newport with a visitation from 1 PM until the funeral service at 2 PM with Bobby McNew officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in honor of Christopher Slippy Smeigh at the The Bank of Landisburg to help his family with any expenses.
