Dana John Halke

Dana John Halke, 62, of Reed Township, Halifax, PA, passed away on July 15, surrounded by family, after a long illness. 

Dana was born on March 4, 1961 in Harrisburg, to Jane Diane (Schlegel) Halke and Donald James Halke. After his parent's death, Dana shared the farm with his younger sister, Jennifer, and lived there until the time he was hospitalized. In his last several weeks, he was under hospice care at his sister Denise's home.

Dana was very talented and enjoyed doing anything from home remodeling to working on farm equipment to cooking. He really enjoyed sharing his talents by helping others. Dana loved being outdoors and loved his dogs. Besides his animals, Dana loved children, especially all of his nieces and nephews.

Surviving are his twin brothers Jamey and Donald Halke (wife Melanie) and sisters Denise Fenton (husband Paul) and Jennifer Halke.

Services will be held Thursday, July 20 at Zion Stone United Methodist Church, 358 Million Dollar Road, Halifax with a visitation from 3:30 PM until the Memorial Service at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Zion Stone UMC, PO Box 529, Halifax, PA 17032 or Hospice of Central PA.
