Daniel H. Hershey, 77, of Newport, PA, died Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at home. Daniel was born August 11, 1945 in Hershey, PA, to the late Daniel and Helen (Wentring) Hershey. Daniel was a retired steel worker who worked for Bethlehem Steel in Steelton. He was an Army veteran and belonged to VFW in Palmyra and was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #272 in Linglestown. He enjoyed hunting, gun collecting, woodworking and watching old western movies and tv shows.

Mr. Hershey was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Groy.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elaine L. (Wells) Hershey of Newport; 2 brothers: John Hershey and his wife Karen of Palmyra and Tim Hershey and his wife Maryanne of Hanover; as well as numerous nieces and nephews including his special niece, Melissa Kepner.

Services and interment will be held Wednesday, July 16th at 11:30am at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. Pastor Sondra Graeff Spotts will be officiating.
