David Lee Peters

June 8, 1961 - June 5, 2026

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the time we shared with him, we announce the passing of David Lee Peters, just days shy of his 65th birthday, at his home in Newport PA.  Born to the late Lee and Pearl Peters in June of 1961, David lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication.

A proud graduate of Newport High School, David embarked on a career that spanned nearly five decades as a Fleet Mechanic with Abarta Coca-Cola. His colleagues remember him as a man who brought passion to his work and a personality that could light up any room. Whether fixing equipment or simply sharing a joke, David's presence was a constant source of joy and inspiration.

Beyond his professional life, David found solace and satisfaction in farming, particularly through his time spent at M. W. Smith Farm. Farming was not just a hobby for him but a way to connect with the earth and those around him. Always ready to lend a hand, David was a pillar of support to many.

David's outgoing personality was the heartbeat of every gathering. He was the life of the party, known for his infectious laughter, lively dance moves, and the occasional impromptu karaoke session. His warmth and generosity extended beyond social occasions; he was a steadfast friend and family member, ever ready to help those he loved with just a phone call.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Pearl Peters, and his dear sister, Debra Rodgers. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Julie Peters and her partner Ryan, Jeremy Peters and his wife Mindy, and Justin Peters and his fiancée Belinda. His grandchildren Tim,Wyatt, Aiden and Belle will forever hold the memory of their “Pap” close to their hearts.  

He is also survived by siblings Dean (Crystal), Mark (Nancy), Robin (Tom), Liz (Bob) as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

In his later years, David found companionship and happiness with Kathy Ryan, who, along with her children Matt and his fiancée Chrystal, Tia, and grandchild Ciara, became an integral part of his extended family.

David's family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all who have reached out with love and support. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where stories will be shared, laughter will echo, and David’s remarkable life will be honored in the way he would have wanted—surrounded by family, friends, and the community he so dearly loved.

In remembrance of David, let us carry forward his legacy of kindness, unwavering support, and the joy of living life to its fullest. He was a man who truly knew how to make the ordinary extraordinary, and his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him
