David Sheaffer, 62 of Etters, PA suddenly passed away on January 07, 2024 from natural causes. His loss was completely unexpected. His family, friends and co-workers are profoundly
saddened. David leaves behind his loving husband (John Tay) whom he met 35 years prior in Harrisburg, PA.
David was born on August 27, 1961 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. Son of George Sheaffer of Florida and the late Barbara Miller Hart of Newport, PA, . He was one of four children: Michelle Minskey (Harry) of Etters, PA; Kerry Sheaffer (Jennifer) of Ellentown, FL and Anthony Sheaffer. Tragically Anthony Sheaffer had previously passed away. Dave had nieces, nephews and a great nephew who loved him and his snarky sense of humor.

David’s and John’s favorite vacation retreat was in the Outer Banks, NC, and they were fortunate to have just been there 2 weeks prior to his passing. He embodied the best qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in his care for his husband, siblings, entire family and countless others.
He worked as a Comptroller at Lehigh Gas for many years. Becoming an important part of that company’s tremendous success. Dave graduated from Elizabethton college with an MBA in
Accounting. He often credits that college with much of his later success in life.
His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide network of community. The family
deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that you make contributions to the SPCA in lieu of flowers.
