Doris A. Dobyns, 93, of Newport, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born  December 26, 1929 in Reading, PA to the late Clair and Ruth (Kell) Lyons.

She worked for 32 years as a clerk for PennDOT. She enjoyed canning, baking, cooking, sports and always having something baked or cooked and a cup of coffee for anyone anytime they stopped in.

 Doris was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Dobyns and son Richard. Surviving are her children Wanda Beam of Newport, Lois Loomis (Darrell) of Thompsontown, Lee Dobyns (companion, Juanita Zeigler) of Newport, Patsy Crisamore of Maryland, Cheryl Campbell (Keith) of New Bloomfield and Steve Dobyns (Lori) of Palmyra; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Services will be held  Thursday, August 17 from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a viewing from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Buffalo-Saville Cemetery, Ickesburg
