Doris J (Rudy) Smith

 
Doris J. Smith, 75 years old, of Newport, passed away November 4, 2021 at the UPMC West Shore Hospital. She was born February 4, 1946 to Emerson and Mary (Radle) Rudy Sr. She was owner and proprietor of DJ Sportswear since 1980  and loved square dancing, putting puzzles together, playing cards and traveling the world  with Michael.   She wasa 1964 graduate of Newport High School and a member of the Eastern Star, the Order of Amaranth and Newport Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
  Doris was the widow of Michael L. Smith and is survived by her daughter Tracy Leland of York, sisters Mary Jane Holley of Newport and Sara Sue Fawver of Florida and grandchildren Samantha and Nicholas Hetrick. She was preceded in death by brothers, Glenn, Carl, Richard and Emerson Rudy Jr. and sister Betty Jones.
   Services will be held Wednesday from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a viewing from 12 PM until the funeral services at 1 PM with the Pastor Mary Kay Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery, New Bloomfield.
