Surrounded by his family, Dr. Robert D. Brofee passed away peacefully at his home on December 2, 2022 at the age of 78.  He was born March 31, 1944 in Millerstown to Delmar and Flo (Bardell) Brofee.  A 1962 graduate of Greenwood High School, Bob continued his education at Penn State (1965) and Cornell University (1969) where he earned his doctorate degree in veterinary medicine.  Following college, Dr. Brofee served as a captain in the US Army Veterinary Corps.  Dr. Brofee worked as a veterinarian for 45 years in both Perry and Juniata Counties.  Bob spent many hours volunteering at the Millerstown Community  Park.  He was an active member of the Millerstown Lions Club, serving as president for several years.  Bob was awarded the Grange 2014 community citizen award for his work.  He was also a lifetime member of the Pfoutz Valley United Methodist Church.  Bob enjoyed hunting, camping and working in his woods.  He was an avid spectator at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. 

Robert is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Good) Brofee; daughters, Kimberly Potter (Jeffery) of Millerstown; Mindy Weller of Millerstown; Jen Grider (Chad) of Reading; and brother, Merril Brofee of Millerstown.  He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Tyler Fegley (Erin), McKenna Weller, Maddie Grider, and Avery Grider.  Bob was preceded in death by his brothers James and Edward Brofee.  

A celebration of life will be held December 14th at the Millerstown United Methodist Church.   Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM followed by the service at 3:30 PM.  A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family.
