Emaline R. Roush, 96, of Millerstown, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Stonebridge Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Thompsontown to the late Edward Forbes Fry and Emma Groff Fry on February 23, 1926.
She is survived by three children: Wanda Beaver (Wayne) of Mechanicsburg, Jim Roush (Cindy) and Steve Roush (Vicki), both of Millerstown. She was "Nana" to nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Roush, her parents, and sister, Elaine Watkins.
Em was active in the community and served leadership roles in many organizations including the Millerstown Senior Citizens Board of Directors, Millerstown Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary where she oversaw the carnival food stand (known for her sweet iced tea), and the United Methodist Church where she oversaw kitchen activities (many of her recipes are still stored in cookbooks in the kitchen). In addition, she was President of the Resident Council at Stonebridge.
She was formerly employed at multiple garment factories in the area, and also worked at Olivetti and TerryPhone in Harrisburg, During WW II, she assembled airplane parts that were used in the war.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 28 at 10 AM at Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown followed by fellowship at the Millerstown United Methodist Church.
