Gail Marie (Broberg) Pennay (73) of Harrisburg, PA died of advanced pancreatic cancer at her home on March 25, 2025. She was born in Harrisburg, PA on March 8, 1952, to the late Clifford and Hulda (Chubb) Broberg. She was lovingly raised by her adoptive parents, Glenn and Luella (Chubb) Nace. 

She is survived by her loving husband Rick; daughters Amy (Benji) Pappal, Katie Pennay, and Carolyn (Eric) Glendinning; grandchildren Jarick, Dain, Kylan and Riana Pappal, and Micah and Peter Glendinning; sister Shirley (Jim) Ferguson, brother Gary (Barb) Nace, sisters-in-law Ruth and Alice Nace; half-brothers Den, Steve and Cliff Broberg; and numerous loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by parents Clifford and Hulda Broberg, Glenn and Luella Nace; brothers Lee and Dale Nace. 

She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1970, from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s in Nursing in 1974, and from Wheaton College with a Master’s in Cross-Cultural Communications in 1977.  On April 7, 1979, she began her 45+ year marriage to Rick Pennay. Gail loved people, and she demonstrated that through a career in nursing, years devoted to raising her daughters, and various volunteer opportunities later in life. Having a life-long love of learning, she later graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Biblical Counseling in 2013. In the final years of her life, she delighted to visit the home-bound, volunteer in the Harrisburg Hospital Neonatal ICU, and babysit her grandkids. 

Gail’s greatest love was for her Lord Jesus. Her faith was apparent through her daily reading and study of the Word, and her faithful prayers for many. Second only to her Lord, she delighted in her family, including her many close-knit cousins.

Funeral services will be held at Millerstown United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Viewing will be held at 3 pm, followed by a memorial service at 4 pm. Fellowship meal at the church to follow graveside service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Counseling Education Foundation (CCEF.org) or UPMC Harrisburg Hospital NICU.   PA.
