GEORGE M. “Mel” DENOTSKO, 89, of Thompsontown, PA, died Friday, February 23, 2024 in the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Mr. Denotsko was born February 9, 1935 in Pottsville, PA, to the late John and Helen (Yochalu) Denotsko.
He was proud to be a Korean War Army veteran. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and was a master wood worker. He loved hunting, fishing, and reloading ammunition. He always had a big smile and loved to laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Denotsko of Thompsontown, PA; 2 sons: Steve Denotsko of Thompsontown, Robert Denotsko of Lewistown, 2 step-sons, Richard Scott Miller of New Jersey, David Frager of Exeter, PA; and a step-daughter, Kimberly Frager Mitchell of Cape Cod, MA; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date with burial with full military honors in the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the David M. Myers Funeral Home, 64 N. Second Street, Newport, PA.
