George R. Yohn, 98, of Millerstown passed away Thursday, April 4 th , 2024 at Transitions Allen Cove,
Duncannon.
He was born November 2 nd , 1925 in Millerstown to the late George G. and Erma Yohn.
George was drafted into the Army during WWII and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon
honorable discharge he worked for the Pennsylvania Rail Road from which he retired. George enjoyed
fishing, hunting and trips to Ocean City, Maryland. He was a member and past Commander of Chubb-
Stroup VFW Post, Millerstown; member of the Liverpool American Legion and Millerstown Moose
Family Center and served the Millerstown Riverview Cemetery for many years.
He was the widower of Evelyn J. (Metherell). Surviving are four children, George (Laurine), Ronnie,
Darwin “Mush” (Treva) and Tony; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great
grandchildren, sister Donna and brother Denny.
He was preceded in death by brother David and sisters Joan, Winifred and Madeline.
Services held Thursday, April 11 th with visitation at 10 AM service 11 AM at Highland Presbyterian
Church, Newport. Interment at Millerstown Cemetery.
