H. Thomas Ulsh Obituary

H. Thomas Ulsh, 80 years old, of Millerstown, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024. He was born January 9, 1944 to the late Harry B. and Flo (Hostetler) Ulsh. He was a 1961 graduate of East Juniata High School and 1962 of the Harrisburg Barber School. He worked with Robert Cameron in his barber shop in Millerstown from 1962 until 1965. He served in the US Army from 1965-1967, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze service stars; a National Defense Service medal; a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Sharpshooter rifle award. He was in the Signal Core and served as a Radio Relay and Carrier Attendant. In 1968 he was employed as a communications technician for AT&T in Harrisburg and retired from the company in 2001. He was a member and elder of the former Presbyterian Church of Perry Valley and now Highland United Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed his family, gardening and music. He was caretaker for Wright's Cemetery for 30 years and was "soup man" at the Millerstown Carnival for 30 years.

  Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gayle (Leister) Ulsh; son Harry Lee Ulsh and wife Kelly of Mayville, NY and grandchildren Molly, Macy and Lucy.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 22 in the social hall of Highland United Presbyterian Church with visitation from Noon- 1:00 PM followed by a meal at 1:00 PM and the service at 2:00 PM
