Harry L. Barkley, 100 years old, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023. He was born February 12, 1923 in Wila to Warren and Daisy (Reapsome) Barkley. He was a former farmer and later retired from Penn DOT. He was a  former president of the Milford (Wila) Cemetery Asso and a member of the Newport Social Order of Owls.

Harry was the widower of Jean Zaring Barkley and is survived by his daughters, Robin Bigler of Newville and Trudy Reynolds and husband David  of Newport and his faithful cat Teddy. He was preceded in death by his brother Howard Barkley and sisters Cora Wagner, Grace Henry and Sherilda Gutshall.
