Harry F Fahnestock

Harry F. Fahnestock, 92 years old, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at his home in Newport. He was born July 27, 1931 in Duncannon to William H. and Minnie (Swartz) Fahnestock. He was a member of the Newport Social Order of Owls, New Bloomfield VFW and the Millerstown Moose. He was a charter member of the PA. State Hunters Association and served on the board of the Newport Water Authority.

 Harry is survived by his longtime partner, Mary Maxwell; sons Nevin Fahnestock (Debra) of Marysville and Carl Fahnestock (Brenda) of York Haven; daughter Roseanna Dietz (David) of Newport; step-children Anthony "Tony" Maxwell of New Bloomfield, Chuck Maxwell of Alaska, Scott Maxwell (Tina) of Newport, Deb Bailey (Jim) of Newport and Mary Jane Maxwell Mani of Idaho; sisters Emily Rowe and Ruth Haulman; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Scott A. Fahnestock; brothers John, Henry, Raymond and George Fahnestock and sisters Mary Catherine Butterbaugh, Ida Suhr and Grace Roush.

  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 22 at the Newport Fire Company from 5-9 PM

  In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Newport Fire Company or Homeland Hospice.
