Irene Marie Pomeroy, daughter of the late Joseph Pavusik and Virginia Baker, passed away on
December 14, 2025, at Cumberland Crossings in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where she had resided
for the past five and a half years following the death of her husband, Harry.
She was born on October 14, 1950, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Irene graduated from
Cumberland Valley High School in 1968.
Irene was married to Harry Pomeroy, son of Raymond Pomeroy and Margaret Hetrick. Together
they raised three sons: Robert Eugene (wife Karen), Brian Edward (wife Tanya), and Jeremy Eric
(wife Jill). She was a devoted grandmother to nine grandchildren and was also blessed with one
great-grandchild.
When her boys were young, Irene dedicated herself to being a homemaker. Later in life, she
worked at the Law Offices of Arthur Berman and at PNC Bank.
Irene dearly loved spending time outdoors with her family, especially camping trips to Colonel
Denning State Park and Codorus State Park. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she
served for many years as a youth group leader at Rose Glen Brethren in Christ Church. She also
faithfully taught Good News Club for many years, touching the lives of countless children
through her service.
Irene will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her steadfast faith, and her caring
heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a
service at 11:00 a.m.
Services will be held at Central Baptist Church, 29 Pines Drive, Millerstown, PA 17062. Burial
will follow at Wright’s Cemetery in Millerstown, Pennsylvania.
