James Campbell Obituary

James L. Campbell, 89, went home to his heavenly reward on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at his home. He was born to Howard and Erma (Asper) Campbell on June 18, 1933.
James lived a long, full life. He served two years in the Army, mostly overseas. He loved to share stories of his time in other countries with his family and friends. He spent many years as a logger, cutting down trees and hauling logs. He really enjoyed that job and would come home dusty and full of sawdust. He also delivered tan bark for Fultz Brothers, sometimes taking his children with him on deliveries. He fell on that job and injured himself, so he opened a garage and worked for many years as a mechanic. He loved Jesus and faithfully attended church from the time he was born again in his thirties. He served as church superintendent for a long time. Besides Jesus and his wife, James' children and grandchildren were the lights of his life. In his younger years, he loved to tumble with them on the floor, give them horsey rides and just play with them in general. As he got older, he got his nails painted by a great granddaughter, took his grandchildren on rides on the golf cart and several vacations, and would give his great grandkids rides on his electric wheelchair.
James is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Russell Campbell, Howard Campbell, Mildred (Campbell) Romburger, Marie (Campbell) Williams, Betty Campbell and Shirley (Campbell) Clucker: children: Wanda (Campbell) Myers, Lester L. Campbell; grandson: James L. Campbell III. He is survived by his wife, Adrianna (Little) Campbell; children: James Jr. (Rosie) Campbell, Forrest L. (Sandy) Campbell, Gregory (Robin) Campbell, Johnny (Verna) Campbell; sister Ruth Collins and brother Ronald Campbell;  ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
