James E. Meas, 66 years old, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at his home in Newport surrounded by his family. He was born August 12, 1957 in Harrisburg to the late Edith (Celesky) and Donald Meas Sr. He was a member of the Newport Social Order of Owls,  the Newport and New Bloomfield VFW and Hunters Valley Sportsmen Asso.  James was employed at Feeser’s Food Distributor in Harrisburg.  James enjoyed spending his spare time at poolside with his family and friends.

 James is survived by his wife Debra (Hanzel) Meas; daughters Jamie (Keefer) Boyer (Richard) of Enola and Edie (Keefer) Ruoss (James) of Elliotsburg; brothers Ronald Meas of Duncannon and David Meas (Tim) of Camp Hill; sisters Darlene Meas of Duncannon and Cindy Wright of Newport; grandchildren Dustin, Timberly, Ricki, Sarah, Ginny, Nick, Cody, Morgan, Connor, T.J. and Sadie and several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa (Keefer) Smith, brother Donald Meas Jr and grandsons Derek and Daren Dilodovico.

  Services will be held Saturday, July 27 from the David Myers Funeral Home with a viewing from 10 AM until the service at 11 AM with Josiah Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
