Janet M (Owen) Horvath

Janet M Horvath, 99 years old, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022. She was born May 23, 1923 in Wheatfield Township, Perry County, the oldest daughter of Paul F. and Goldie (Roberts) Owen Sr. Janet graduated from New Bloomfield High School in 1940, followed by Central PA Business College. She was employed by several insurance companies, the Perry County Commissioners, and retired from PA Dept of Welfare. She served as an AARP Tax Consultant, Apprise Volunteer, and worked at various part-time jobs through August 2001. Since 2008, she had kept corresponding with birth triplets in Oklahoma and Michigan. All were born the same day, month and year. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.
  Janet was the widow of Sigmund J. Horvath Sr. and is survived by her daughters, Sigrid Hockenberry (Robert), Cindy Aguillard (David); sons, Sigmund J Horvath Jr  and James E. Horvath (Juanita), sisters, Winifred Radle and Joyce Shuman (Richard); brothers, Richard Owen (Mary Ann) and Jay Owen (Dianna);grandchildren: Richard Good (Holly), Scot Good, Heidi Good, Kelly Bekelja (Mickey), Joel Horvath (Aimee), James Horvath Jr. (Wanda),Joseph Horvath (Erica) and Marcia Beres; step grandchildren: Tina Miller (Joe), Christopher Aguillard (Ashley), Barbara Wilson (Carl), Diane Farrell (Joe), Charles Good Jr., Duane Good (Susan), Michelle Hockenberry, Cynthia Shumway (David) Jason Hockenberry and Rita Rand; 21 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Rosalie Boyer and brothers, Paul Jr., Thomas, Gerald, Charles and Carl Owen.
 Services will be held Tuesday, October 11, at 10:30 AM from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Snyders Cemetery, New Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the humane society.
