Janice M (Bitting) Howell

Janice M. "Nanny" Howell, 79, of Creekview Drive, Newport, went to be with the Lord early Monday, December 30, 2024 at her Oliver Twp. home.  Born June 12, 1945 in Newport she was the daughter of the late Leaman & Ethel (Murphy) Bitting.  She retired from Suburban Propane where she was an employee for 35 years.  She really enjoyed her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.  She is the widow of the late Elmer E. Howell.  Surviving are her son Elmer E. "Doc" Howell, Jr & wife Patty, two daughters, Kandy J. Isenberg & husband Mike and Brenda L. Gross & husband Chris, all of Newport, PA.  Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters.  She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Sam, Park and Wayne Bitting and sister Sally Snyder and 2 great grandchildren, Kaden & Salem.  Services will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 at David Myers Funeral Home in Newport, viewing starting at 10 am, services will start immediately following, graveside services at Pine Grove Church Cemetery.  Rev. Gary Bellis officiating.
