Jannette M (Smith) Ribic

Jannette M. Ribic, 90, of Harrisburg passed away Monday, March 6, 2023. She
was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She was
born in Harrisburg, PA on November 26, 1932, to the late Lewis Smith and
Blanche (Horley) Smith on November 26, 1932. Jannette was a 1951 graduate of
John Harris High. She worked in retail sales; primarily at the John Wanamaker
Department Store, for 20+ years until her retirement in 1995. Jannette was
happily married for 53 years to the love of her life, the late Robert E. Ribic, Sr.
She was an avid Notre Dame and Dallas Cowboys fan. She enjoyed reading,
movies; especially old westerns, spending time with her family, attending her
grandchildren’s sporting events, summers at the beach in Wildwood,NJ and road
trips to New England and Florida with her beloved late husband, Robert.
Jannette is survived by sons Robert, Jr. and wife, Lori, Christopher and his wife
Amy; grandchildren, Robert III, Maria, Brianna and Christian and great-
grandchildren Adelena, Reed and Sebastian and sister Joanne Foy. She was preceded in death by her
parents; beloved husband, Robert, Sr.; sisters, Sharon and Nancy. Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 11 AM at
the St. Catherine Laboure Parish, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg with Rev Steven J
Arena as celebrant. Visitation will be at the church at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in
the Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be
made to St. Catherine Laboure School or Bishop McDevitt High School.
