Obituary
Jean Elizabeth Himes, 96 years old, of Newport, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023. She was born December 3, 1926 in Newport to Raymond and Eva Himes. She was employed in Newport as chief telephone operator with United Telephone Company. She retired from United Telephone then worked for Rite Aid in Newport.
Jean is survived by her sister Janet Sheaffer and nephew Owen Sheaffer (Candy Martin). She was preceded in death by her nieces Debra Urich and Joyce Henry.
She enjoyed going to yard sales and especially spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 25 at 2 from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with Pastor Mary Kay Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
