Jennifer A. VanDerslice, 52 years old, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at her home in Newport. She was born December 29, 1973 in Middleburg to the late Lois (Spade) and Donald Longer. She was a cherished homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her children; and a beloved cheerleading coach for many years. Jenn is survived by her husband of 33 years, Joseph W. VanDerslice; son Christopher Bush and partner Ashley of Hershey; grandchildren Jayden, Jax, Cam and Karson; daughter Kaitlynn VanDerslice and partner Ian of Pittsburgh; daughter Miranda VanDerslice and fiancé Nate of Newport; grandchildren Kendall, Rylee, and Lennon; son Darin VanDerslice of Newport, granddaughter Scarlett; and brother Shawn Longer of Middleburg. Jennifer was the heart of her family, leaving behind a legacy built on kindness and love.

A Celebration of Jennifer's Life will be held Tuesday, March 31 from 1-3 PM at  the David Myers Funeral Home.
