John W Cover Sr.

John W. Cover Sr. 79 years old, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the UPMC West Shore Hospital. He was born March 23, 1944 in New Castle, PA to Walter and Josephine (Kirk) Cover. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and a 22 year member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Bloomfield.  His greatest joy was his family and friends.

John  is survived by his wife, Susan Caler Cover; sons John Cover Jr and wife Kerri of Millersburg and Matthew Cover of Pottstown; daughter Michelle Lynn Wellwood of Altoona; grandchildren Katelynn Lackey (Alexander), Jessica Stauffer (Zachary), Brianna Tunison (Luke) Abigail Wellwood and Lexie Cover.

A viewing will be held Thursday, July 27 from 6-8 PM at the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Services on Friday will be from St. Bernard Catholic Church with a visitation from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at  11 AM  Interment, with Air Force Military Honors, will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 2 PM.
