Joseph T Scaringi

Joseph T. Scaringi, Jr., 79 years old, of Hummelstown, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023.
Joseph was born March 21, 1944, in Penn Hills, PA to Joseph T. and Vincianna (Perri) Scaringi.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara, and his four children and ten grandchildren:
his son, Joseph E. Scaringi and his daughter Allegra; his son, Marc A. Scaringi, Sr., and his wife,
Melanie, and their four children, Gabriella, Marc Anthony, Jr., Julia, and Portia; his son, Garrett
W. Scaringi, and his wife Danielle, and their three sons, Nicholas, Alexander, and Christopher;
and his daughter, Jennifer Buehner, and her husband, Dr. Ryan Buehner, and their two sons
Clayton and Gavin. He is also survived by his sisters Arlene Berexa and Cyndi Gates.
Joseph was born and raised and lived most of life in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Penn
Hills High School and Grove City College. He worked briefly for his father’s furniture store,
Arro Furniture, and then spent the rest of his career as a full-commission Independent
Manufacturers Representative selling furniture to retailers throughout Pennsylvania, West
Virginia, and Ohio. He won salesman of the year many times from companies such as Catnapper
and Barcalounger. He was a part owner of a furniture factory, Brandon House, in Tennessee. He
finished his career back at the beginning by reopening Arro Furniture with his eldest son.
He was an avid golfer, hunter, and lover of the outdoors. But, most of all he was a dedicated and
loyal family man. Affectionately known as Pap-Pap to his grandchildren, he took pride in
teaching them how to golf, hunt, and handle a firearm. He enjoyed attending his children’s and
grandchildren’s multiple sporting events and could always be seen and heard on the sidelines,
and sometimes on the field, shouting his encouragement. Later in life, as most of his adult
children congregated in the Harrisburg area, he and his wife relocated to Harrisburg to be close
to them.
Services will be held Saturday, September 9 at Encounter Church of Palmyra with a visitation
from 2-3 PM and a service at 3 PM.
