Kathryn E (Stine) Cree

Kathryn Elizabeth Cree, 94, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022 at Brio of Johnston in Johnston, Iowa. She was born to John and Mary Stine in Mifflin County on January 27, 1927. She was a housewife who took pride in her home and yard. She loved cooking for friends and family. Kathryn and her husband, Dean spent 30 years in Mesa, AZ enjoying retirement and moved three years ago to Iowa to be close to family.
 She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Spoerl; granddaughter, Heather (Russell) Slings; great grandsons, Jason and Ryn Stursma and brother, Melvin Stine. She was preceded in death by her  parents, husband, Maurice (Dean) Cree; son, Robert Cree; grandson, Jason Spong; son-in-law, James Spoerl; brothers, Merrill, Albert, Jay, Clarence and Arthur Stine; Charles and John Kuhns; sisters, Pearl Wagner, Elizabeth Shellenberger, Sara Spangler and Bertha Stover.
  Services will be held Friday, January 14 from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a viewing from 11 AM until 12 PM with graveside to follow in the Newport Cemetery.
