Kay F (Stambaugh) Kapp

Kay F. Kapp, 84 years old, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022. She was born to Clair and Elizabeth (Campbell) Stambaugh on July 8, 1937, in Newport. Kay graduated from Newport High School in 1956. While in school, she worked at Gowers Drug Store. After graduation, she worked for The United Telephone Company as an operator.                                              Kay was a member of the Newport First Church of God. Her great grandfather was a founder of the church, and she was very proud of that. Her hobbies were playing card games with friends, traveling and making flower arrangements. She loved being around people, her friends and family.
  Kay is survived by her sons, Michael Kapp and his wife Cindy of Reno, NV and Randy Kapp and his wife Donna of Newport; sister Doris (Stambaugh) Smith of New Bloomfield; grandson Gregory Kapp and his wife Lisa and great granddaughters Elizabeth and Samantha of Orinda, CA; granddaughter Cassandra (Kapp) Witte and husband Matt and great granddaughter Lillian of Napa, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband James Edward Kapp, her parents and sister Lois (Stambaugh) McKensie.
  Services will be held Friday, June 24 from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a viewing from 10 AM until the services at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Newport Cemetery.
  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Newport First Church of God or the Newport Ambulance League.
