Larry Gerard Zies, 71 years old, of Newport,  passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026. He was a painter and traveled the area painting houses, offices and apartment complexes for over 30 years.

Always lighthearted and hard working. He always had a joke and swore he knew every person in Newport.

Larry was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, George and Mary (Magaro) Zies, wife Connie (Hoy) Zies, brother Robert "Butch" Zies and son-in-law Michael Matt. He is survived by his wife Denisha (Shields) Zies, his five children Roseann Klinger and James of Shamokin Dam, Stephanie Sellers and Douglas of Thompsontown, Chad Zies of Duncannon, Amanda Zies of Carlisle and Jeremiah Brown of Newport, sisters Cindy Hatter of Camp Hill, Ginny Summers and Charles of Marysville, Toni Rodriguez and Orlando of Annville and Patty Peterson of New Jersey, grandchildren Michael, Jr., Courtney and Oliver and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, March 27 at Waypoint Ministries, 616 New Bloomfield Road, Duncannon, PA 17020 with a time of visitation from 2:30 PM until  the Celebration of Life Service at 3:30 PM.
